This work documents a simple action. While visiting her hometown Hulunbuir, Ji Jia and her father found a leaning
tree. They decided to try and straighten it together. The process was recorded through a series of photographs.

Soda Dream
Single-Channel video, filmed in Skógar, a village in southern Iceland, with a population
of 25 in 2007. There is no grocery store in town and almost no commercial facilities.
One late night during Jia's stay in Skógar, she wanted to drink soda, so she tried to
buy a bottle of soda in the town, eventually, Jia bought one from a waiter who was
closing the hotel. The whole process was recorded on video.

Filmed on Diamond Beach, Iceland, this work documents an action where Ji Jia embraced a piece of glacier ice that had drifted to the coastline. Each piece of glacier ice is nearly 500 years old. The cold from the ice penetrated her skin. A thermal camera captured the change in skin temperature caused by contact with the ice.

A Silent Song
Single-channel video. Ji Jia was singing next to Skógafoss (Iceland). The sound of the
waterfall
engulfed her singing. To create a song without melody and sound. The song Jia
sang during her performance is ♫<<Sorrow>> , by The National.

Saturday Drunk
A tilted handmade beer glass filled with Ji Jia’s urine. The urine was collected after she had consumed only beer, processed through her body. The glass was produced in collaboration with glassblower Noah Hartley.

InsomniaIn the video, Ji Jia was counting sheep on the grassland located in Chenbaerhu
Banner, Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia, China, which is the only road leading to Ji Jia's hometown. The flock was
constantly moving, a seemingly impossible mission. Audiences can use the counter to count the sheep in the
photograph during the exhibition.

Trigger
A proposal was submitted to the cities of Bergen, Norway, and Guangzhou, China, requesting permission to reverse the operating schedule of their public fountains, keeping them off during the day and running throughout the night.

2022Site-Specific Installation
Cooperation
Install an automatic feeder above Bergen Kunsthall's entrance. A pair of horn speakers
play the pre-recorded whistles at 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily, while the automatic feeder
delivers bird food. The aim is to train the pigeons in the park to eat and excrete at Bergen
Kunsthall. Video is recorded from a CCTV camera inside the automatic feeder. It lasts one
month until the end of the exhibition.

Cold Beer?
Moving Jia’s apartment refrigerator outdoors, still filled with her daily groceries, use an extension cord to connect it to the internal power supply, keeping the fridge running while offering free beer to visitors.

A Puff of Breeze
Install a pair of feminine home-style lace curtains on one of the Tag Team Studio’s windows
and open the window to hang one of the curtains through the window outside. Keep the curtain
hanging outside during the whole exhibition period. To connect the inside and outside space.
